The Pemberton Oak is a 600+ year-old white oak.

The Pemberton Oak was the landmark that was used by the Militia under Capt. John Pemberton's command as a muster site.

His men mustered here in 1780 on their way to the grand muster at Sycamore Shoals and on to the Battle of Kings Mountain.

Our ancestors took part in the Battle of Kings Mountain.

Stephanie has a piece of the oak which was in the silent auction at the reunion.

These are the hands of my friend, Lou,
and her little grandson, Hank,
who was born 3 months early
and was due on July 4th!
Look at his little hand!
He now weighs 5#8oz.!
